Welcome to my violin studio, I'm so glad you're here!
Teaching violin has become an integral part of who I am as a human and I'm so incredibly joyful to be sharing my love of this instrument with my students.
So, what is a studio? It a lively community that represents the violin lifestyle, where we unite to celebrate and uplift each through group lessons, recitals, workshops, and more.

Technique
Every lesson Sarah teaches she works to build a strong foundation of skills and habits: students are taught proper violin playing posture, effective practicing skills, techniques for counting and rhythm and music theory knowledge.
Every student is set up technically with care and attention so that advanced skills can be easily introduced at the right time for each student.

Musicianship
From the very first lesson, Sarah's goal is to foster the unique sound and personality of each student. Playing violin with the student in each and every lesson helps to develop their ear to details in articulation and tone.
Sarah teaches violin and viola lessons in a traditional method built on the pedagogy and teachings of Paul Rolland, Suzuki, Mimi Zweig, Simon Fischer and Ivan Galamian.

What to expect when signing up:

Submit the Google form
Whether you are an adult student or are inquiring on behalf of your child,
the first step is to fill out the short Google form linked below.
Within 24 hours of submitting the form, Sarah will send you an email asking when is best for you to chat on the phone about lessons!

Chat with Sarah
On a short phone call, Sarah likes to hear all about the prospective student and what they are interested in.
This gives you a great opportunity to chat about what private lessons might look like for you and your family! Sarah will go over the openings in her schedule, location, price range for tuition and what type of offerings Sarah has in her studio at the moment.

Consultation lesson
After the phone call, Sarah offers a 30 minute consultation lesson that would be scheduled.
This time gives Sarah a chance to get to know the prospective student and spend some time teaching them for about twenty minutes, the rest of the time is free for conversation and additional questions with the family to determine if we are a good fit for each other!
This lesson costs 40 and is offered with no obligation or contracts :)
Adult Violin Lessons:
Sarah welcomes adult students at all learning stages into her studio!

Play regularly but want some help on a tricky piece?
Sarah can teach you how to play traditional Classical pieces, Pop tunes and even Irish and Old Time American fiddle tunes.
"Whoever said “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” was wrong. I am an adult learner who never studied any instruments as a child. I have been working with Sarah Cole as a new student for a couple of months.
In this time, I have learned to read music and play several songs on the violin with Sarah’s guidance. Sarah's love for her instrument is contagious.
She offers me personalized instruction and encouragement. She is candid in her feedback but always constructive. Sarah is delightful to work with." - K.M.
